Well, I'm still having structural issues with creating the carnivorous project, so that's currently on hold.
But I heard today back from the committee that I got into the Dublin Art Fair! It's July 17th and 18th. Yay!
Also, wanted to share some inspiration that I've been looking at recently. First are Erika A. Uzmann's enamel and silicone slugs. They're brooches! Second are Tosca's crazy alien looking biology specimens. Beautiful work. I can't wait to get my ass in my studio.

Some more sketches

Things are looking up
The CCAD art sale was pretty lucrative for me yesterday! It seemed like everyone had a good day of sales, and good moods were in abundance. Lets hope this is a trend for craft shows this year, and everybody decides the recession is over and goes out to buy more art! Made me hopeful to sign up for a few more shows than I was going to this year. I think I'm going to try and do:
- Agora at Junctionview
- Yellowsprings Street Fair
- Winterfair

Carnivorous
Some sketches for a project I'm working on involving carnivorous plants. I've been trying for days to think of some clever family appropriate metaphor, but whatever that idea is its been eluding me. All I've got is Victorian style portraits of the plants, which I think is kinda a silly juxtaposition while also being pretty, and referencing Darwin's sketches.
I'm not in love with it, but I think its kinda cool. We'll see. Need to think about it a bit more.
